Crab-snowgun opilio
Crab-snowgun opiolio (Latin Chionoecetes opilio) refers to crustaceans, which is confirmed by the fifth pair of legs, which he hides under the shell. In Russia it occurs in the Bering Sea and the Sea of Okhotsk at a depth of 7 to 100 m, where the bottom temperature does not fall below +2 degrees Celsius. It feeds on mollusks, larvae, and crustaceans. The diameter of the shell is from 2 to 16 cm, weight to 2 kg - much less than that of the Kamchatka or blue fellow. It looks rather faded: brown, sometimes with a reddish tint, gray "legs" and white or yellow belly. Mature individuals prefer deep waters in the shelf, small crabs, on the contrary, stay closer to the shore. As a youth, schooling, after ripening lead a sparse way of life, but sometimes there are dense clusters. It is an object of fishing. The rules set a clear measure: the catch is not taken by females, young and individuals, whose shell is less than 10 cm. However, according to expert estimates, commercial reserves are sufficient, which creates good prospects for future catch. Crab-striguna is delivered in completely different types: entirely (pre-washed) or in parts - claws, whole limbs or cut in half along the length, in a shell with a notch, etc. Due to the exceptional taste properties, this delicacy is valued all over the world
